Corporate Events FAQ

  • What do you require at the performance venue?

    We require 4 armless chairs and an ample space of about 8’ x 8’ in the performance area. Also, a space to store our cases is greatly appreciated.

  • Does String Quartet of Northern Virginia play outside?

    We are happy to play for any outside event, as long as we are provided with full shade and a flat surface on which to play. We also require there be no precipitation and temperatures between 60-95 degrees in order to protect our instruments.

  • What if there is a special piece we would like played?

    We have over 800 titles in our library! Even if we do not have it, we will acquire it for you. If a new arrangement is needed, certain fees and adequate time to commission the arrangement will apply.

  • How do musicians dress?

    Our performing artists dress in formal attire unless otherwise specified. Men wear tuxes and women wear all black.

  • Will the musicians on this website be the same ones playing for my event?

    Absolutely! If, for some reason, one of our musicians is not able to fill an event, we will provide an equally talented professional musician who has experience playing with us.

  • Will the musicians take breaks?

    We will need to take a short (approximately ten minute) break each hour for performances two hours or longer, but we will coordinate with you to make the music as continuous as possible.

  • When will you arrive for the event?

    We will arrive 20-30 minutes beforehand so we can coordinate any last-minute details with the event planner.

  • How do I get a quote?

    Please contact us using this link with as many details as possible, including location, date and length of engagement. We will create a custom proposal for your consideration!

  • Do I need to pay a deposit?

    A $500 deposit and signed contract is necessary to reserve your date on our calendar.

  • When/how is payment due?

    Payment in full is due two weeks prior to the event and may be paid by check or online with a credit card.

  • What if my event begins late/runs overtime?

    Overtime fees will be billed at $225 in 30 minutes increments for a quartet—overtime specifics are detailed on our contract.
